Antonio Brandimarte, from Roseto degli Abruzzi, has recently graduated from Florence Academy of Fine Arts. He was one the three artists selected to spend the month of October 2017 in London within Art Apartment's Art Residency London is Open.
In his paintings he has travelled as in aReverse Grand Tour with London as the destination of a contemporary exploration.
Planes and ships from the past takes the viewer on a journey across Italian and English architectures. The exploration of maps and geography is for Antonio a way to reflect on the theme of borders and bridges between countries and people.
He has explored these themes also focusing on the tempera technique in the series Studio in Tempera.
In London, Antonio has worked on a series of Impossible Projects. In the artist’s imagination, streets, squares and bridges of the city turn into spaces for impossible exhibitions.
