The first competition Art Residency - London is Open aims to give up-and-coming Italian artists the opportunity to explore a new reality and to tell stories that cross borders.

The winners — one or two artists based on the funding — will live and work for free in one of our London flats in October 2017 and will get a grant of £1,000  and up to £500 for materials.

To apply, the artists submitted a short project outline on the theme London is Open that they will complete during their stay in London. The works will be unveiled at an event at the end of the residency.

The residency is funded by online fundraising on the crowdfunding platform BeArt.

Backers can now decide the winners by voting on the 15 artists selected by the jury.
Other rewards for donations to the residency will be dinners with the artists, original drawings and three days in London during the final event.
