During the residency I propose to represent views of London in autumn using mixed media on polycarbonate and canvas with a 3D effect. The chance to realize the works in London itself, influenced by the typical London atmosphere will have a huge impact on the paintings, as will the interaction with local people. Hence the idea of painting portraits of visitors to the artist's studio/flat.

They will become part of a London "Hard Air" series, perhaps shown in the street, on a bridge or inside a building. Including human figures will be a departure from my usual work symbolizing the active involvement of the public who will have the chance to become part of a 3D urban vista. Another interesting way to involve people would be the inclusion of a shared timeline: the painting would be divided into quadrants and a continuous line would be painted in the same colour in one or more of the sections.

The line would reproduce the outlines and details of the scene without leaving the polycarbonate sheet for the duration of the work. The rules regarding duration, colour and space would be decided collectively in an ad hoc manner: the timeline may become weaker according to the personal decision of the artist, creating an independent and almost monochrome section of landscape, with which the artist must interact when creating the rest of the work.
