Continuing my creative research which uses light, colour and the body as fundamental elements I would like to apply my techniques in a different city with a different atmosphere and different people. We often fail to realise that colour is a fundamental part of our existence: we don't just see colour – it is inside us and part of us.

Applying my abstract photography in a different setting from the one I've always worked in would mean opening the door to new discoveries, observing new people who are not part of my life and have no connection to me and seeing how colours interact with each other.

Colour is essential to our existence and everyone reacts and interacts with it in a different way according to their personality, the life they've lived and their cultural background but colour can help all of us live in harmony with our bodies. There is a scientific theory that views colour and light as ingredients that can be used alongside traditional medicine to help heal us. It's a method that brings together art and science, photography and physics.

In the same way that the light which gave Caravaggio's paintings their depth and intimacy, the colours we see after staring at the sun then closing our eyes reveal what we are feeling. It is this link to our emotions that I want to continue to study by using colour, light and the human body and capturing it in my photographs. I want to discover, investigate and create connections by using seemingly unrelated materials which, in fact, have more in common than we realise.

Possible materials: watercolour inks, water and a cloth.
