Peter Cartwright is an English painter based in London. His influences were nurtured and informed in his adolescent years during the optimistic melee of the 1960s.

He immersed himself in all aspects of art and design. He is a prolific painter, experimental sculptor, regular exhibitor and obsessive art gallery attendee.

He approaches his work in a perfunctory manner and, although reluctant to analyse and articulate his motivation to express himself, it has been observed that there is a certain tension in his paintings between the wildness and imperfections of the natural world and the rationale of the built environment.
